‘Sustainism’ a new way to live and work?

Sustainism poses a great challenge for designers, architects, planners, scientists, engineers, teachers, and artists. For the “creative class” this movement is not only an opportunity, but also a responsibility. As the cultural sphere takes center stage, the creative classes can inspire new connections and inventive solutions. When you are involved in running a business and in making and designing, you cannot avoid thinking about the future and with recent economic events, how to survive and build something that has lasting value and meaning. I recently came across this book via the wonderful Alabama Chanin blog which went straight into my shopping basket/wishlist. Sustainism is a book, an ideology, a new movement? It may not have all the answers but I love the positivity of this message. “the dawn of a new cultural era” exciting times!
